During this five day internship, myself and a team of others learned, and observed how the juvenile justice system operates in Rhode Island. We attended lectures on theories that create the foundation for community outreach programs, and shadowed staff members and youth at both Tides Family Services, and Ocean Tides. This immersion program educated me on how cases are handled, how the job is performed, and how these programs benefit families and society. The internship also consisted of forum discussions, journal entries, a Career paper, and a presentation.
